| Does it matter which type of bags are used?
|
| For best results, Sharp recommends using bags specifically designed for your particular model. If your local dealer is unable to obtain bags, they can be ordered through our accessory line at 1-800-642-2122. |

| Can we use the upright vacuum on bare floors?
|
| Sharp manufactures models with rug/floor selectors. This feature is found standard on the models with a 15" agitator. |

| Yes, while in the bare floor setting the agitator disengages so it will not rotate. |

| Does the agitator stop while using attachments?
|
| While using the attachments it is very important that the unit is locked in the upright position. When the unit is locked in the upright position, the agitator disengages. |

| Can I install a Hepa filter in my older vacuum?
|
| Yes. If your model has full time on board tools and has a model number with the prefix: EC-T28, EC-T59, or EC-TU59. You can upgrade to a true Hepa filter by ordering accessory EC-01MU3. |

| Can the brushes on the agitator be replaced?
|
| If the agitator is metal, the brushes are replaceable. However, the brushes on acrylic agitators are not replaceable. The entire agitator would need to be replaced. |

| What does automatic carpet height adjustment mean?
|
| The vacuum cleaner automatically adjusts to the height of the carpet. |

| What is the protective motor bypass system?
|
| An outer hose that bypasses the motor to prevent any harmful objects from obstructing or damaging the motor. |

| Can I purchase an extended hose to reach my ceiling?

| Sharp does offer an optional accessory kit to attach to your hose for up to double your current reach. This kit is available through the Sharp Accessories & Supply Center at 1-800-642-2122 or through many dealers. |

| What is the speed of the power control with one speed?
|
| One speed power control operates on high power only. |

| How can I change the belt on my vacuum? |
- When replacing the belt, always set the RUG/FLOOR Selector to the “Floor “ position.
- After removing the bottom plate, lift up the belt cover and remove the pulley cover to determine if the belt is worn or broken.
- Pull out the agitator and then remove the flat belt from the motor shaft.
- Loop the new belt around the motor shaft.
- Then re-insert the agitator assembly, making sure that both ends of the agitator assembly fit into the groove of the nozzle head. Be sure to install the new flat belt into the guide properly.

| How do I change the bag on my vacuum? |
- When operating the vacuum cleaner, always use genuine Sharp Twin Ply Microfiltration paper bags.
- Remove the Full Time On Board Tool on the dust cover if you unit is equipped with tool on the cover.
- Push down on the clamp knob located on the top of the dust cover and pull the dust cover forward. (Away from the unit.)
- To remove the paper bag, grasp the collar on the bag and pull it out.
- Insert the new bag by pressing the collar opening completely around the suction inlet.
- Spread out the sides of the new bag.
